Shipping & FFL transfers

Every firearm ships to a licensed dealer you choose. Ammunition, magazines, optics and accessories ship to your own address.

Shipping cost

• $29.99 flat rate per order.
• Free shipping on orders over $999.
• Your FFL dealer charges a separate transfer fee, paid to them at pickup. In Ohio that is often $20 to $50. Call to confirm.

How a firearm gets to you

1. Choose a dealer. Any federally licensed (FFL) dealer that handles transfers: gun shops, many pawn shops and sporting-goods stores, and home-based licensees, whether you are in Toledo, Dayton, Akron, Athens or a crossroads town in between. Call first to make sure they accept shipped transfers.
2. Enter the dealer at checkout. Name, city and state are enough. The FFL number helps if you have it.
3. We confirm the license. We obtain a copy of the dealer's license before anything ships.
4. Pick up. Bring valid government photo ID with your current address. You complete ATF Form 4473 and the dealer runs the background check through the FBI's NICS system. Ohio has no waiting period, no purchase permit and no registration, so a cleared check finishes the transfer.

Handguns must go to a dealer in your state of residence. Long guns may go to a dealer in another state only where the sale is legal in both states. We never ship a firearm to a home address.

When it ships

Orders usually leave within 1–3 business days after payment clears and, for firearms, once we have your dealer's license on file. Tracking arrives by email. Ground delivery covers all of Ohio. In the weeks before deer gun season dealers are busy, so order early and let your dealer know a package is coming.

Items from partner warehouses

Some items ship from partner distributors instead of our main warehouse. These usually ship within 1–3 weeks, and we email you if yours will take longer. If we cannot ship an item within 30 days of your order, we tell you and refund it in full, or you can choose to keep waiting.

Ammunition

• Ohio requires no license or permit to buy ammunition and does not restrict direct shipment, so ammunition ships to your Ohio address.
• Federal age limits apply: 18 for rifle and shotgun ammunition, 21 for handgun ammunition.
• It travels by ground only, never air, so it may arrive after the rest of your order.
• An adult signature may be required on delivery.
• Some other states and cities restrict direct ammunition shipments, including California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Illinois and Washington, D.C. If an order cannot legally ship to the address given, we cancel that item and refund you.

Magazines and rifle features

Ohio law sets no magazine-capacity limit and has no state ban on semi-automatic rifles or particular features, and ORC 9.68 reserves firearm regulation to the state. Standard-capacity magazines and modern sporting rifles ship to Ohio normally. Columbus passed a city ordinance in 2022 concerning magazines of 30 rounds or more that has been contested in court under that statute. If you live inside Columbus city limits, check its current status before ordering; we cancel and refund anything that cannot lawfully ship to your address.

One field rule that is not a shipping rule: during Ohio's deer gun seasons a shotgun or straight-wall rifle may hold no more than three rounds in total, whatever magazine you own. See the deer rifle guide.

Restricted items

You are responsible for making sure what you order is legal where you live and where it ships. If an order cannot be lawfully completed, we cancel and refund it in full. We do not sell NFA items (suppressors, short-barreled rifles or shotguns, machine guns).
